Petrography
The rock with its impressive structure is predominantly formed by the green minerals epidote and chlorite.
Petrogenesis
Greenstone refers to metamorphic rocks which were generated by means of pressure and high temperatures. Parent rock material was probably dark,
basaltic volcanite.
