Orobico Red

Petrography
The rock consists mostly of calcium carbonate. The vivid texture is determined by
in parts strictly parallel lines, but mainly by irregular enclosures of small amounts of
iron oxides (hematites).
Petrogenesis
That kind of limestones evolved out of lime sludge on the seabed. Even before the solidification, the different layers of sediments began to move because of tectonic processes. What gave result to the vivid structure.
