Sequoia Brown leathered
The close-up view of each stone type shows a relatively true image of the crystalline structure and the colouring. This is suitable for grained slabs to a limited extend only. In regard to the colour matching, please take an original sample of the stone from your furniture store as a basis.
Petrography
The partly folded marble with very many ribbons is fine crystalline. The main components are the two carbon minerals calcite and dolomite. Brown-coloured, shining, fine crystalline flakes of the mica phlogopite are enriched in layers.
Petrogenesis
Marble types are crystalline limestone rocks, generated under high pressures and temperatures in the deeper areas of the earth's crust or folding upwards of mountain ranges. The original rocks were in this case limestone sediments containing some clay. This was converted to mica. The non-crystalline structure of the original limestone was at the same time changed into fine crystalline. The bands show layers of the previous limestone sediment.
